Maintenance work on board the research ship owned by the Flemish Community
Maintenance work on board the research ship owned by the Flemish Community
In early 2017, a Flemish research ship was brought into dry dock for a 5-yearly inspection.
The most important items on the dock work list were the installation of a new blister
for monitoring equipment, repair to damage on the bow caused by a collision and
the disassembly/assembly and inspection of screw propellers, rudders and tailshafts propeller axles with special bearings on this silent diesel and electric-powered vessel.
The entire work list was completed by the set deadline.
